Build something with us.

We're growing, and we're looking for people who take pride in doing the job right — on a team where you can talk directly to the owner, not get lost in layers of management.

Sitework Foreman / Equipment Operator Burlington, NC · $26–$32/hour DOE · Full-Time · Overtime Available · 90-Day Performance Bonus

Want to work somewhere that doesn't feel like a corporate construction company? We're a privately owned, growing construction and materials company, and we're looking for the right person to grow with us.

We understand you have a life outside of work. You may have a family. You may occasionally need a day off. And you probably want more out of a job than 10 vacation days a year and being treated like a number. In return, we're looking for someone who works hard, takes ownership, and rises to the occasion when there's a job to get done.

This isn't a seat-only operator position, and it isn't a clipboard foreman position. We need someone who can think, operate, lead when needed, and get their hands dirty.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll work across J. Coble Construction and J. Coble Materials. On the construction side, that means grading, excavation, drainage, concrete, demolition, and general sitework — operating excavators, skid steers, and loaders, but when it's time to get out of the machine and work alongside the crew, that's part of the job too. You should be able to:

  • Read civil/site plans
  • Read grade stakes, elevations, cuts, fills, and slopes
  • Lay out work and check grades
  • Operate excavators, skid steers, and wheel loaders
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveries in the field
  • Perform grading, excavation, drainage, demolition, and general sitework
  • Work alongside the crew and do whatever it takes to finish the job
  • Take care of equipment like it's your own

You'll also help with J. Coble Materials, our concrete recycling and aggregate operation in Burlington — loading trucks, inspecting incoming concrete, operating equipment, maintaining stockpiles, dealing with customers and drivers, and helping keep the yard running.

What We're Looking For

Experience matters, but so does attitude. We're looking for somebody dependable who can be trusted with equipment, trusted on a jobsite, and trusted to make good decisions without someone standing over them all day. CDL is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

If you're the type of person who sees something that needs to be done and handles it, you'll fit in here. If you're looking for a company where you can work hard, be respected, have some flexibility, and grow as the company grows, we'd like to talk.
